Messages of Love, Hope, Peace, Equality and Acceptance

“Life’s most persistent and urgent question is,
‘What are you doing for others?” ~ Martin Luther King

Martin Luther King “MLK Day”, designated by Congress as a national day of service. All Americans are encouraged to contribute in some way to bring positive change to their communities. As we pay tribute to a great leader of the American Civil Rights Movement we are reminded of the dream he held for all people. We take time to help another in need, take steps to express messages of love, hope, peace, equality, acceptance, compassion, and humanity.

“Everyone has the power for greatness, not for fame but greatness,
because greatness is determined by service.” ~ Martin Luther King

As an artist you may be inspired to create and share your art that resonates the values lived according to Martin Luther King Jr. It is important to honor the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. and follow in his footsteps.

“We must use time creatively,
in the knowledge that the time is always ripe to do right.” ~ Martin Luther King

About Martin Luther King Jr. 1929 – 1968
He was born Michael King Jr. He was an American Baptist minister and activist, one of the most prominent leaders in the civil rights movement from 1955 until his assassination in 1968. An African American church leader and a son of early civil rights activist and minister Martin Luther King Sr., King advanced civil rights for people of color in the United States through nonviolence and civil disobedience. Inspired by his Christian beliefs and the nonviolent activism of Mahatma Gandhi, he led targeted, nonviolent resistance against Jim Crow laws and other forms of discrimination. Leaders not in love with money, but in love with humanity. Leaders who can subject their particular egos to the greatness of the cause.” ~ Martin Luther King
