Create An F.A.Q. Page on Your Art Website

By Renee Phillips 4 Comments

You’ve probably noticed I’ve written a lot about how to improve your art website — from mistakes to avoid when creating your art website, how to improve your visitors’ experience, and how to create an in situ page and your praise page. This article is about another important page to help you advance your art career. It will help you with deciding what questions to answer when you create your F.A.Q. page on your art website.

The F.A.Q. (Frequently Asked Questions) page helps your potential buyers while it also works as a great art marketing tool.

The Advantages of an FAQ Page
∗ Visitors will appreciate that you have anticipated their queries and concerns.
∗ They will perceive you as an efficient professional artist who knows how to treat potential buyers.
∗ This page will also save you time since you can provide a link to the page when communicating with others in email and on social media.
∗ Your F.A.Q. page will provide topics for your blog posts.
∗ You’ll notice that visitors will remain on your website longer and return.
∗ It will enhance your SEO due to the addition of the keywords and phrases.

Some of the Questions You Can Answer to Place on Your FAQ Page
∗ How and when should interested customers contact you?
∗ Do you accept commissioned projects?
* Do you have a newsletter subscription form?
∗ What are your payment terms?
∗ Do you offer installment payment plans?
∗ Do you have a return policy?
∗ What shipping options do you offer?
∗ Do you accept wholesale purchases from corporate art consultants and interior designers?
∗ In what galleries is your art currently available throughout the world?
* Are you interested in being contacted by galleries or agents?
* Do you accept visitors at your studio?
∗ Do you rent or lease your art and what are your fees?
* Do you use archival, environmentally friendly materials?
∗ If you print limited editions of your originals, what is the size of the edition?
∗ Does your print come with a certificate of authenticity?
* Do you help customers with the selection of frames for your artwork?

Where to Find Additional Questions
∗ Collect questions from buyers at your exhibitions and your fans/followers in social media.
∗ Ask potential buyers if they have any questions and concerns.
∗ Study other artists’ F.A.Q. pages on their websites.

Additional Notes
∗  Write your questions and respective answers in a direct and concise manner.
∗  Create this page to reflect your own style and website design
∗ Update the page periodically as you acquire new content.

So, I hope you’ll consider adding an F.A.Q. page to your art website. I’m sure your art marketing efforts will be rewarded.

Thanks for the good advice, I need to start planning the faq section right away ! Would it be better in terms of SEO to do it in the third person?

    Best Regards,
    Miika

Thank you for your comment. The answer to your question depends on how your website is set up and the contents of your FAQ. Generally speaking, I would recommend that you speak directly to your potential buyer in the first person.

I’m putting together a FAQ for my website as per your good advice. Should I do it in first or third person? The individual comments about each one of my paintings is done in the first person.

    Thanks for your advice!

    Sincerely,

    Shelleen

Shelleen, that’s a great question. They are both acceptable. There is no right or wrong way. That’s entirely up to you, whether you want to take a personal approach using the first person, as you have done with the comments about your paintings. Happy to help!
