Isn’t it empowering when you learn something new to take your career to the next level? There are many online resources for artists to expand your creative and business skills. You can achieve your career and financial goals without having to leave your home or studio or be forced to follow a strict schedule.

The following online resources offer options for beginners to advanced programs. Many are free or low cost.

Youtube
This is my favorite for free online learning. Youtube is an incredible FREE resource where you can go to for any topic. I taught myself how to set up a WordPress site in an hour from watching videos on Youtube. I also enjoyed exploring Art History lectures and take museum tours led by curators. On Youtube I learned how to set up apps and plugins on this website.

Skillshare
This is an online learning community with thousands of classes in design, business, creativity, technology, and more. Anyone can join the millions of members in its community to learn cutting-edge skills, network with peers and discover new opportunities. You can choose from a variety of courses and can offer to earn money selling your own set of skills. Visit Skillshare.

Udemy
With 80,00 online course to choose from, you should be able to find what you’re looking for to expand your art business skills, such as social media marketing for artists, growing your art business, and  art marketing in the digital age, both offered at less than $30. Visit udemy.com

Free fun demonstrations are also offered such as “Paint Like O’Keeffe or Matisse” with step by step instructions using acryl mousse and art crayons. Visit Artists Network.

Winsor Newton has a Masterclass – Learning Tools for Artists. Watch FREE videos at https://www.winsornewton.com/na/masterclass.  Also watch a range of videos on new products, painting tips, techniques and materials in different mediums, terminology, and more.

Coursera
Courses are taught by professors from many top universities,  organizations and art institutions, like the Museum of Modern Art. Many specializations are fee-based, but even these courses can be audited for FREE. Web Design for Everybody (Basics of Web Development and Coding) Specialization is offered from $49. Each course is like an interactive textbook, featuring pre-recorded videos, quizzes, and projects. Visit Coursera.org

Hone your visual analysis skills. Use each artist’s works as a point of departure for making your own abstract paintings. You receive a Course Certificate which you can use on your printed resumes and on your biography on your website and social media profiles.

Codecademy
This is a simple online interactive platform that offers free coding classes in 12 different programming languages including Python, Java, PHP, JavaScript (jQuery, AngularJS, React.js), Ruby, SQL, and Sass, as well as markup languages HTML and CSSA.
