AUGUST 2, 2023 ~ Topic: Creative Inspiration
This week I decided to steer away from my typical topics related to the “business” of being an artist and take you to the heart and soul of why you are an artist. The topic is “Creative Inspiration”. If you’re like most artists I know you are always searching for new ways to expand your creativity and inspiration.
Many life’s challenges may cause creative inspiration to be stifled or derailed. In ideal circumstances you want to feel that energy always flowing naturally and in abundant supply.
If you experience creative blocks, have doubts, or ever suffer from creativity overload, or you need a strong dose of inspiration and motivation to create your art, I’ve written many articles on those topics to help you.
Henri Matisse reminds us “Creativity takes Courage”. He never lost his creative inspiration even when he was faced with cancer and was no longer able to create his larger canvases. He found a way to continue to create art from his wheel chair. You’ll read about Matisse in my article listed below “Get Inspired by Famous and Courageous Artists”.

JULY 12, 2023 ~ Topic: Advice to Improve Your Art Website
I visit dozens of artists’ websites every day. When I come across a website that has been designed with careful attention to arranging the art and the text and offers viewers a positive, easy to navigate experience, I want to rejoice. Unfortunately, that is not true with the majority of artists’ websites I visit.
Most of the time I wish I had magic powers to fix the errors I see or at least reach out to the artist and tell them why they are turning away prospective buyers and galleries due to these missteps.
Of course I’m not a magician nor do I have permission to log in to an artist’s website and apply some quick html coding, reorganize their portfolios and fix typos. Instead I offer several articles on the subject. This week you’ll see a few of them.
You don’t need to be a website designer or technician. Most of the time a quick fix here and there will make a huge improvement on how your website will appeal to prospective buyers.
The articles are informative and simple to follow. I hope they motivate and inform you to make the improvements that will enhance your site. I highly recommend you begin with the first article on the list.

JULY 5, 2023 ~ Topic: Your Artist’s Statement
Writing about your art can be one of the most frustrating challenges you will face as a professional artist. If you are suffering from this painful activity you are not alone. Very few artists I know have a natural talent for writing about their art. One of the main reasons is it is difficult to view your art objectively. And, if you are critical in any way, you may only see the flaws and not the many attributes that exist throughout your body of work.
To help you I have written several artists on the subject of Writing Your Artist’s Statement. I list several below although you may only need to read the first one because it is thorough and has 28 important step-by-step guidelines which you can follow very easily.
And, if you have only a limited amount of time and want to get some advice there is a “Quick Tips” article. Also, you may enjoy the more light-hearted articles like “Fun Techniques…”. So, take your pick!
You can always choose one now and save this page in your browser to return to it later so you can read more. I also provide a link below to my writing services that are very helpful to artists.

JUNE 28, 2023 ~ Topic: Your Relationship With Art Buyers
Many artists sell their art directly even if they have a gallery that is selling their art. That’s a smart idea. However, unless you are an experienced gallery owner yourself or have a degree in art marketing you may not have the necessary skills to be your best agent. The good news is you can learn these skills and improve upon them with experience.
One of my skills is to help artists achieve their fullest potential with ease and in the quickest way possible. My articles and the guidelines I offer are simple to read and apply.
To help you understand your potential art buyers and how they approach buying art, how to attract potential art buyers and how to treat them when you do, I offer these fact-filled articles. Each article offers more links for further reading.
